Wedding Myths
Myths and Superstition have the affect on people that we do not know whether
to believe them or not, however Brides generally do believe them as no one wants
any bad luck on their wedding day.
Pearls Some say wearing
pearls represents future tears. Others say wearing pearls represent real tears
and therfore the bride will have a very happy life with no tears.
Ring Drops Good Luck: If you drop the ring during the wedding
ceremony if frightens away evil spirits.
Bad Luck: The person to drop
the ring passes away first.
Pins The bride should check that
all pins are removed from her dress & veil or this will bring bad luck.
Coins The groom should give away a coin to the first person he
sees on his way to the church.
Crying If a bride cries on her
wedding day she will have no tears for the rest of her married life.
Rain Good Luck: Rain on a wedding day means many children for
the married couple.
Bad Luck: It also can mean that the bride will cry
throughout the marriage.
Seeing The Bride The groom should not
see the bride in her dress before the wedding day. If the groom avoids
looking at the bride as she walk up the aisle they will have more luck.
Honeymoon The couple drank wine made from honey at the time of
the full moon.
Blue Garter This is a hebrew custom which
symbolizes fidelity. The tradition is for the garter to be taken off and
thrown to any batchelors in the wedding guests.

Cake The cake originates from the Roman Times when the grooms mother
broke bread over the brides head to bring fertility. |
